Higher National Diploma (HND) in Dispensing Technology
The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Dispensing Technology is a program designed to build upon the earlier Dispensing Technician (DT) Certificate program.
It was introduced to enhance the capacity of graduates in terms of performance and to meet the demands of pharmaceutical industries, such as hospitals and community pharmacies.
Components of the Programme
Students in this program undergo courses in dispensing of medicines, prescription reading, identification of prescription errors, hospital and community pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical microbiology, analytical chemistry, organic and medicinal chemistry, basic pharmacognosy, physiology, pharmacology and therapeutics, basic first aid, management, and store-keeping.
Additional mandatory courses include communication skills, computer literacy, African studies, statistics, and entrepreneurship.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates of this program are employed by the Ministry of Health as Pharmacy Technicians and are regulated by the Pharmacy Council.

Diploma Medical Laboratory Science/Technology
Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology is a program designed to train individuals to become Laboratory Technologists.
The curriculum aims to provide students with a solid theoretical foundation in diagnostic medical laboratory sciences and the competence to generate accurate laboratory results.
The program’s objectives include:
- Demonstrating adequate knowledge and understanding of the theoretical aspects of medical laboratory science.
- Showing competence in generating laboratory results and practicing in specialized areas.
Integrating current clinical developments into professional practice. - Managing complex laboratory procedures with high organizational ability.
- Applying knowledge in entrepreneurship for setting up private diagnostic centers.
Diploma Topup
After successful completion of the certificate, graduates have the option to top it up to a diploma with an additional 2 years of study
